Chinese 'teapot' found in Australia

The following photographs were supplied by Brett J. Green. These exclusive shots show an ancient Chinese "teapot?" found April 1972 after cyclonic conditions in the Rainbow Beach coloured sandcliff regions just south of Fraser's Island and Tin Can Bay east of Gympie (S.E. Queensland, Eastern Australia). There are no known European recorded Chinese associations with that area except for Aboriginal legendary stories that MAY indicate a Chinese connection at some very early time.

The "teapot" appears to be of great age and is in remarkably good condition. It was probably washed ashore centuries ago and subsequently buried in the dry sand cliffs out of reach of salt water and weather corrosives. It's composition is either bronze/bronze-alloy/copper/tin? Past corrosion is evident. It has not been dated officially. Its origin has not been sought by the owners - they have accepted the original data that it is Chinese; of great age; and details on where, how and when it was found. It was purchased originally as a collector's piece of interest.

Chinese symbol for the word 'mountain' found at Moeraki

This metal object with the Chinese symbol for 'mountain' on it was found by the cliff at Moeraki Beach, November 2003. The symbol has been verified as authentic script by a Professor at Canterbury University.

Complete knife blade or spear point?

The following item was found on Ashburton Beach, New Zealand.The end you see is not in fact the 'sharp' end - rather the handle end. The sharp end is bent, however there is a definite tapering of the blade to a thin point. Can anybody shed any light on its origin?

Chinese cast brass artefact found in Northwestern Australia

This brass artefact was found off the northern Australian coast by Peter Weaver and his father 23 years ago. It was found with Chinese pottery and an opium pipe. Can anyone shed any light on its origin?

Bronze artefact found in San Clemente, CA

This artefact was found approximately 30 years ago whilst a reader was walking on the beach in San Clemente, CA with his father. It was embedded in the sandstone cliff with a portion exposed. It was taken to be carbon dated, but the only outcome was that the item was "very ancient". One can see Mesoamerican / Asian type markings (square spiral) and a Demon/Deity face with slanted eyes and a wide grin (It is hard to see but there are 2 square spirals in the centre of the mouth as well.) It seems to be cast in three parts from a Bronze alloy.
The size of the Artifact : it fits in the palm of one's hand, & is quite heavy for its size, which, along with the greenish blue patina, leads the owner to believe that it is made of some sort of copper alloy (Bronze).
Any new information on this article would be much appreciated.

Bronze plate found in Susanville, CA

This beautiful gold coloured plate was found by a hunting party in 1957, out in the woods in the Susanville area of north California. As reported in the ''Ancient American'', issue number 54, by Arthur Palmer, the inscription dates the item to the Ming Dynasty in the Reign of Xuan De (1426-1435 AD)

Teapot found in Australia

Reader Michael Zuschke purchased this teapot at an auction in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia some twenty years ago. It had been burried as the spout was full of soil.
They know very little about this piece and would be grateful if anyone could shed any light on it / advise them who to contact in Australia re ascertaining its provenance.

A plain brass medal with the inscription “Authorized and awarded by Xuan De of Great Ming”, unearthed in North Carolina

A medal granted by a Ming emperor has been unearthed in eastern USA, indicating that Zheng He's fleet might have been in contact with pre-Columbian native Americans.
